CHICAGO — A mass shooting at a Chicago lounge Sunday left seven people shot, one fatally according to surveillance video and reports.
The incident unfolded early Sunday morning at a lounge in the 1800 block of West 87th Street, police said.
At around 2:05am, a 24-year old man started shooting after getting into a verbal argument with 37-year-old Stephan Roberts, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Roberts was shot twice in the neck and three times in the back, CST reported. He was later pronounced dead at Christ Medical Center.
The 24-year-old suspect was himself shot eight times and was taken to the hospital in critical condition, according to police.
Five people who were at the lounge were also injured in the shooting, police said.
A 38-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.
A 23-year-old man was grazed in the face and a 37-year-old woman was shot in the back. Both were listed in stable condition, according to police.
A 56-year-old man was also shot in the elbow and a 33-year-old man in the upper body. Both their conditions were said to be stable.
In total, 41 people were shot and five were killed from Saturday night through early Sunday morning in Chicago, CST said.
