LINCOLN, Calif. — A Lincoln High School student was arrested after slapping a teacher during a freshman meeting, an incident caught on video that has spread across social media.
The video shows the student striking the teacher inside the gym. When the teacher escorted the student outside, the confrontation escalated again before a school resource officer slammed the student to the ground and restrained him.
Lincoln police said the student was booked into Placer County Juvenile Hall and is facing charges. District officials confirmed the student will also face disciplinary action.
Lincoln’s police chief praised the officer’s actions, while the school district called the student’s behavior unacceptable.
