Two teenagers were cited after a dirt bike crash in Salinas, California, that left one briefly on fire, according to police.
The incident happened Thursday evening October 30th when a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old were riding non-street-legal dirt bikes north on North Main Street. Police said the teens ran a red light at the Target Shopping Center intersection on Harden Ranch Road, where a woman was turning left onto Main Street on a green light.
The 16-year-old sideswiped the car, causing him and his bike to catch fire for a short time. He suffered a broken ankle but is expected to recover.
Police cited both teens for traffic violations and released them to their parents.
