Trans woman assaulted by moving company employee inside storage facility in Nashville

On Friday, May 30, a trans woman reported being the victim of a hate-motivated assault at Extra Space Storage on Charlotte Avenue in Nashville.

According to their account, they and a queer friend were verbally harassed by five men—identified as movers from Black Tie Moving—who allegedly shouted transphobic slurs and misgendered them.

Despite alerting storage facility staff and requesting assistance, no action was taken. Moments later, the victim says they were physically attacked by one of the movers, identified as Jeremiah Hendrix, who allegedly struck them in the face while continuing to yell slurs. The victim claims the assault was unprovoked and rooted in hate.

Following the attack, the movers were reportedly allowed to return to the property, with no apparent consequences from either Extra Space Storage or Black Tie Moving. The victim is calling for accountability from both companies, citing emotional and physical trauma from the incident.
