Triple shooting involving teenagers leaves one dead in the Bronx

A 16-year-old boy was killed and two other teenagers were wounded in a shooting in the Bronx on Wednesday evening, according to police.

The gunfire erupted just after 5 p.m. near Broadway and West 238th Street in the Kingsbridge section. Officers responding to the scene found three victims: a 16-year-old boy shot in the back, a 15-year-old boy shot in the leg, and a 13-year-old girl also shot in the leg. All three were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where the 16-year-old, identified as Christopher Redding, was pronounced dead. The two younger victims were reported in stable condition.

Investigators believe the violence may have started with a dispute inside a nearby McDonald’s before moving outside. Witnesses reported seeing a group of teenagers fighting near a corner bodega before shots were fired along West 238th Street. The victims reportedly ran back toward the corner and collapsed.

Police are investigating the shooting as gang-related. No arrests have been announced as detectives continue to search for suspects and determine what led to the confrontation.
