Two people were killed and four injured following a shooting during a pool tournament in Colombia.
“On the night of Saturday, March 15, 2025, an incident of violence occurred at a commercial establishment in the municipality of Villa del Rosario (Norte de Santander), leaving two dead and four injured.
According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred at the site known as the Gran Templo del Billar (Great Temple of Billiards), located in the Villa Antiguas neighborhood (northeast Colombia). Witnesses and residents of the area told local media that the venue was having a grand opening, and that a billiards tournament had been organized for the event.
The championship was even being broadcast on social media, and at one point,
armed individuals riding a motorcycle managed to enter the establishment and, without saying a word, fired at the attendees.
According to information revealed by Caracol Radio , one of the two people who died at the business
was identified as Samir Olarte, a well-known currency trader in the region, while the second victim is Edwin Uribe, owner of a motorcycle store in the municipality of Norte de Santander.
Meanwhile, the four injured people were taken to a nearby Duarte hospital, but their prognosis is reserved.
“In addition to this, four males who were partying at the scene were also injured. We have immediately deployed all of our institutional capabilities. The investigative team comprised of the Sijin (National Investigation Unit), the CTI (Criminal Investigation Unit), and the Attorney General’s Office was activated to identify the individuals involved in this incident,” said Lieutenant Colonel Julio Olaya, Operations and Citizen Security Commander of the Cúcuta Metropolitan Police.”
