Two Pasadena ISD students shot during after school fight

PASADENA – Two Pasadena ISD students were shot during a fight after school on Friday, according to the district.

The incident reportedly happened at about 2:50 p.m. in a church parking lot across the street from Pasadena Memorial High School.

A spokesperson for Pasadena ISD says a fight in the parking lot led to gunshots.

Two students were struck by the gunfire. One was sent to a local hospital and another one was carried out via Life Flight. Officials said one victim was shot in the upper torso/chest area. He was last reported to be in stable condition. The other victim was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the left forearm. 

Pasadena police said both victims attend Memorial High School.

One of the students is said to be in stable condition.

Officials said that witnesses reported a fight between juvenile males occurred in the parking lot when at least one juvenile male displayed a firearm and began shooting into the crowd of juveniles. 

All suspects then fled the scene in vehicles. 

In a letter to Pasadena ISD families, the district says schools in the area were placed on Secure, but the Secure was lifted after authorities found no ongoing threat. 

No one involved in this incident has been identified at this time.

No suspects have been identified. 

The motive behind the shooting is unknown. 

The second victim’s condition is currently unknown.
