Video released shows fight involving Arapahoe County Sheriff Tyler Brown

DENVER, Colorado — Newly released surveillance video shows the moment Arapahoe County Sheriff Tyler Brown got into a fight at a Greenwood Village business.

The scuffle took place at the Pindustry bar and bowling alley on the night of August 21, according to a report from FOX31.

Video shows Brown in a gray shirt pushing another man holding a beer towards the exit.

Brown can then be seen putting his hand around the man’s neck, the video shows.

A friend of the man comes running from behind and strikes Brown twice in the head in an attempt to get him to let go.

Brown said he was defending his wife after a stranger asked for her phone number.

Denver District Attorney Beth McCann said Thursday the evidence in the case doesn’t support criminal charges against any of the parties involved.

McCann based the decision not to file any charges because all parties involved were drunk and their testimony is not reliable.

Furthermore, there were no serious injuries and there is no reasonable likelihood of a conviction, FOX31 reported.

Although Brown won’t face any charges, McCann called Brown’s conduct “irresponsible and unprofessional for an elected sheriff.”
