FLORIDA — A 14-year-old boy is dead after falling from the Free Fall roller coaster drop tower ride at ICON Park in Orlando, according to video and reports.
The boy, identified as Tyre Sampson, 14, fell from the ICON Park Orlando Free Fall ride, described as the world’s tallest freestanding drop tower.
The accident happened at around 11pm on Thursday.
The full death video shows the ride heading up the drop tower before someone is later seen falling from the ride.
Tyre Sampson was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The amusement park’s Free Fall is the world’s tallest free-standing drop tower, and the ride reaches about 75 miles per hour. The roller coaster ride stands at 430-feet tall.
