VIDEO: Two teenagers charged in shooting that left Bronx teen dead in livery cab

Two teenagers have been charged in the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old Bronx teen, whose slaying was caught on video as he sat in the backseat of a livery cab last week.

Authorities say a 15-year-old boy was the one who opened fire on the livery vehicle in the Bronx last Sunday, leaving Ramon Gil-Medrano dead.

Police say he opened fire from a scooter and shot Gil-Medrano in the head and chest at around 11:30pm on July 11.

The 15-year-old suspect was arrested at his home in Queens, and was arraigned on Saturday in Bronx Criminal Court. He was charged with murder, manslaughter and weapon possession and is being held without bail.

19-year-old Mekhi Williams was also on a scooter that pulled up to the victim’s livery car and has also been arrested.

Williams is charged with conspiracy, gang assault and weapon possession — and was also ordered held without bail during his arraignment Sunday.

Police say Gil-Medrano’s murder was retaliation for a gang shooting that left 13-year-old Jaryan Elliot dead in the Bronx during the same weekend.
