Video shows woman trying to run down students with minivan during fight at Silvestri Middle School

NEVADA — Videos posted online show the moment a crazed mother tried running down students with her minivan following a fight at Silvestri Middle School in LA Friday.

Jaquitta Madison was arrested on six counts of battery with a deadly weapon and one count of child abuse in connection with the incident, police said.

Police responded to a fight that had ended at the school near Jack Leavitt Street and East Le Baron Avenue in which Madison was involved. According to Las Vegas police spokesman Larry Hadfield, as Madison was “driving away”, her vehicle “clipped four juveniles resulting in superficial injuries”.

But witnesses say it was no accident.

“A mom in a white van got into a physical fight with a student and then she was hellbent on running him down,” one of the witnesses said.

“The mom was just like yelling at the kid, cursing at him. She ended up actually hitting him,” another recalled. “That’s when my friend hit her back and then she got into the car and she backed up and she hit two or three cars while she was there and she chased my friend around that vacant lot and hit other kids, too.”

Katie Duda, who also witnessed the scene, said the incident was “absolutely intentional”,  adding that “some kids were jumping on her hood to avoid being hit. It was overwhelming … just crazy.”

Police provided no update Saturday on the search for the driver.
