VIDEO: Man shot at point blank range on sidewalk in the Bronx
THE BRONX, NY — A man was shot twice at point blank range on a sidewalk in the Bronx, newly released video by the NYPD shows.
The shooting unfolded just before 10am Wednesday, August 11, in front of a store on East Tremont Avenue, near the corner of Crotona Avenue, the NYPD said.
Footage shows the unidentified gunman standing on the busy sidewalk, holding a drink in one hand and a concealed gun in the other.
A 44-year-old man is then seen walking past the suspect, who immediately pulls out the firearm and shoots the victim.
As the victim tries to run away, the gunman fires his gun once again, striking the victim a second time before fleeing the scene.
The victim was shot in the left wrist and left leg, police said.
He was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, according to police.
A motive for the shooting has yet to be determined. The suspect remains on the run.
