VIDEO: Man sucker punched and stabbed in Brooklyn

NEW YORK — A man was sucker punched and stabbed on a sidewalk in Brooklyn, new NYPD video shows.

The attack took place at 11:15am Wednesday August 25 on Mermaid Avenue near West 16th Street in Coney Island, police said.

The attacker and the 27-year-old victim were walking alongside each other, arguing — when the suspect cocked back his fist and punched the victim in the head, the footage shows.

The two struggled and the attacker pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times in the torso.

The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The suspect fled the scene and is wanted by police.

He is described as a Black man, about 5-foot-10 weighing 200 pounds, wearing a black baseball cap, a red shirt, black pants and black sneakers.
