Video shows victim assault driver who ran her over in Chicago hit-and-run

CHICAGO — Police are looking for the driver of an SUV who ran over a woman and child in a hit-and-run incident Sunday in Chicago.

The incident unfolded near 79th Street and Exchange as the two victims, a 25-year-old woman and a 12-year-old girl, were leaving a liquor store Sunday night.

Video of the incident shows the driver of a white SUV driving at low speed before pulling up at the business.

As the victims exit the store, the driver appears to press on the gas pedal, running them over and crashing into the front door of the establishment.

The driver then reverses and gets out of the vehicle, footage shows.

Video then shows the 25-year-old victim, who appears to be uninjured, stand up and walk up to the driver before bashing her on the head with her purse — sending the driver tumbling to the ground.

A confrontation ensues and the driver and passengers of the SUV eventually flee the scene, according to a report from ABC 7 Chicago.

Both victims were taken to the hospital in good condition.
