Woman killed, 8 injured following shooting at salsa nightclub in Ecuador

On the night of Thursday, May 29, 2025, a violent attack occurred outside a salsa nightclub in the Bastión Popular neighborhood of northern Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Surveillance footage captured the incident, which took place at approximately 11:46 PM.

The video shows patrons seated outside the venue, socializing, when masked assailants suddenly opened fire. As people scrambled to seek shelter inside the club, a woman was seen collapsing on the sidewalk.

One of the attackers approached her and fired multiple shots at close range, resulting in her death.

Eight other individuals sustained injuries during the shooting. Most of the victims were identified as Venezuelan nationals.
