A woman is dead and her grandchildren were injured after they were run over by a car in Brazil.
“Fabriciane Rodrigues, 43, died this Tuesday, after being run over with her two grandchildren – a 3-year-old child and an 11-month-old baby – while trying to cross Avenida Brasil, in Tangará da Serra. The accident happened this Monday (10).
Fabriciane and her 3-year-old grandson suffered brain damage and were admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Her condition was considered extremely serious and required bedside care with neurosurgical support, as it was a highly complex case.
However, the bed is only offered by the state and Fabriciane was waiting for a bed through the Unified Health System (SUS) while she was hospitalized at the municipal hospital, but she did not survive.
In a statement, the State Health Department (SES) clarified that Fabriciane’s transfer request was included in the Regulation System at 10 pm on Monday and, since then, the teams have joined forces to find a bed that meets her needs.
The grandson remains hospitalized in serious condition. The baby suffered minor injuries and was discharged.”
