Distressing videos show a woman pouring boiling water on her 3-year-old son, stomping on his head and kicking him in Honduras.
“The Public Ministry confirmed that the woman who recorded herself burning a minor was released.
The woman identified as Ana Patricia Girón Tábora had recorded herself on video while pouring hot water on her son.
“Elvin, you can show the video to anyone, if I see the police nearby, this will turn out worse,” the woman is heard saying in the graphic material.
“This case was taken as an ex officio complaint in the month of February by the Public Ministry, because the minor’s father also formalized the complaint,” reported the spokesperson for the Public Ministry, Lorena Cálix.
According to Cálix, the minor, after taking him from the mother, went through a temporary home, but was already officially handed over to the father.
“When the arrest occurred, the hearing for the declaration of the accused took place, at that procedural moment a judge ordered judicial detention; however, when the initial hearing took place, the competent judge decided that measures other than preventive detention be issued”, reported the MP spokesperson.
The woman currently must appear in court every week, and is also prohibited from approaching the attacked minor, nor can she approach the place where the minor lives.”
