SOUTH AFRICA — New video shows the moment a woman was shot in the neck following a verbal confrontation inside the Pearls Mall parking lot in Umhlanga.
Video of the incident shows a man and woman standing outside of a white Volkswagen Golf near a boom barrier inside the Pearls Mall parking lot. The man is at the driver’s window and the woman is leaning in the backseat — when the woman suddenly collapses on the ground, seemingly shot by someone inside of the car.
The woman then gets up and runs away towards the boom barrier before disappearing out of camera view.
The driver of the Golf then drove off in the direction in which the woman fled, according to the footage.
The victim was rushed to an area hospital with a gunshot wound to the neck.
Local police said a 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with the shooting. What charges he faces are unclear at this time.
