Woman taken into custody after crash near downtown Fargo

FARGO — A woman was taken into custody after a crash caught on security camera video Monday morning, Feb. 10, near downtown Fargo.

The crash happened shortly after 9:39 a.m. on Third Avenue South near the Cass County Courthouse and the WDAY-TV building.

Fargo police say a woman who allegedly fled from officers crashed into a parked pickup truck outside the WDAY News building near the Cass County Courthouse.

Security footage from WDAY News captured the crash. Police say they attempted to pull over the driver, but she sped off. Officers did not pursue her but witnessed her crash into the parked truck.

The truck’s owner, Micah Thureen, said the vehicle is still drivable, but the impact bent the hitch, disrupting his plans to go ice fishing.

Police arrested Megan Frank, 26, at the scene. She was booked into the Cass County Jail on a fleeing charge.

Thureen has contacted his insurance company and is waiting to learn the extent of the damage and what will be covered.

Authorities have not yet announced Frank’s court date.
